iway is far worse than this skill as far as overused, overpowered, and more annoying. Hell touch rangers are more overused, overpowered, and more annoying. Its really not that powerful as apparent by only newby guilds and builds using it. Have you ever seen EW, iGi, kgyu, char, IQ, etc using it? Maybe as a joke, I'll never forget the day I watched EW and IQ fight in HoH both using iway.

Just because a top guild doesnt use it doesnt mean that any guild that doesnt copy from them is nooby. But Air of Enchantment isnt overpowered. The original smite was so powerful because the skills you used had a 1/4th second recharge.

The original smite was strong, because of the quick cast/recharge combined with how ether renewal powered the caster back up as a result of it. The healing was probably really the only thing out of line, because even energy denial worked against it when they chose to cycle to ether renewal. You had to cast in order to regain energy, so just timing one e-drain hamstrung the whole thing. When talking about skills like this, its still non-finite energy situations for all intensive purposes. The only difference is, the values themselves do not swing as radically from one extreeme to the other.

The only real argument is, AoE (bleh) affects all monk prots for the entire team opposed to only the user in the instance of ether renewal. Also, like most all monk enchantments, it recycles far faster than any removal can keep up with it.

I don't think Air of Enchantment is overpowered at all.

1. You are pretty much stuck on one target, because if you switch you have to waste energy to cast AoE again.

2. You can only use 5 energy enchantment that cast fast and recharge fast in order to get benefit from AoE, and those kind of enchantment are....very few in number.

3. You HAVE to keep spamming while standing still to get the so-called imbalanced energy mangement, making you a easy target since you can't kite easily.

And those are only the shortcoming of the skill itself, as many ppl already mentioned the many many easy counters for AoE smite, which is the ONLY situation where AoE truly deserve the elite label.
